Niamh was brought up in Ireland and now lives in The New Forest with her husband and children.

Niamh is the Founder and Creative Director of The Travelwrap Company.

 “Internet shopping is very different from shopping on the High Street and people have to trust the brand as well as the website, so I was determined to present a product of the highest standard, from the best cashmere and colour palette to the finest packaging, labelling and delivery service.

To achieve the highest quality in terms of palette and finish of our cashmere wraps I quickly realised that we needed to have our beautiful Travelwraps knitted and finished in Scotland, the home of some of the finest quality cashmere in the world."

The Travelwrap Company designs are an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary. Inspiration for designs comes from Niamh’s interest in contemporary art and the rural landscape of her home in the New Forest. Her Travelwrap designs celebrate an optimistic spirit.

Niamh combines beautiful colours with exceptional cashmere to create a unique and distinctive functional luxury, The Travelwrap.

Like many good ideas in business, The Travelwrap Company originated from direct personal experience. While travelling on business, the company founder Niamh Barker realised she preferred her own rolled up cashmere sweater to the offer of the airline reusable blanket and pillow. She came up with the concept of The Travelwrap.

Her original idea was to allow travellers to have a beautiful knitted cashmere travel blanket that would provide comfort as well as a sense of home.

And then she realised that same sense of comfort and warmth was what she sought while watching the sun go down on board the family boat, at home enjoying those late summer picnics, or just reading a book by the fire...
