Much as we love our travel at Travelwrap towers, we’re less keen on the preparation: all that washing, ironing, packing leaves us, well, in need of a holiday. So when we heard about The Connaught’s ultimate pre-holiday sleepover package, we saw its appeal immediately. ‘The Night Before’ package costs £1,060 for two people and works like this. Step one: Throw all your holiday outfits into a suitcase. Step 2: Take the chauffeur-driven car to The Connaught in Mayfair where a butler will whisk away your case to press and repack its crumpled contents. Step 3: Head for the hotel’s Aman Spa for a relaxing treatment and perhaps an exfoliating scrub to get your skin tan-ready. Step 4: Return to your Deluxe King Room for a light supper and an early night. Step 5: Be awaked by a gentle wake-up call plus a cup of tea and a weather forecast for your destination. Step 6: Tuck into a delicious take away breakfast as your chauffeured car eases through the rush-hour traffic to the airport or station. Who says the night before a holiday has to be stressful?

‘The Night Before’, which also includes a 10-point holiday check list, must be booked two days in advance. For further details, call 44 (0) 20 7107 8945 or email [email protected]©Noel Hendrickson/thinkstockphotos

Unfortunately, those pristine clothes will need washing again by the end of the holiday. Obviously if you’re staying in a hotel you can simply send everything to the laundry before you check out, but what if you’re self-catering? To prolong that holiday feeling, why not drop your suitcase off at the local branch of Waitrose? The store now acts as a collection point for Johnson The Cleaners, whose Holiday Laundry Service includes washing, drying and folding the contents of a cabin case from £10, a medium case from £15 or a family case from £20. Ironing costs from an additional £2 per item. If your Travelwrap has taken a bit of a bashing while you’ve been away, this might be the perfect time to try our reconditioning service. Our mill in Scotland will remove any pilling, hand-finish any loose yarns and invisibly mend any snags or holes, returning your wrap as good as new, ready for your next trip, all for just £40.
