Need inspiration for Mother’s Day on Sunday? Fortunately, the travel industry loves a special occasion and there are plenty of Mother’s Day packages on offer. Here are five of our favourites.

Mother’s Day Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Dorchester, London

There can’t be many mothers who wouldn’t fancy afternoon tea in the hotel’s glamorous Promenade (above). Accompanied by a glass of Laurent Perrier Brut Champagne, the tea costs £59 per person and includes sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, a selection of pastries and cakes and rare and grand teas. It’s the same price as the hotel’s normal Champagne tea, but it includes a small bunch of posies to take home.

The National Trust has a handful of cottages still with availability for Mother’s Day weekend, with up to 15 per cent off. Three nights at Little Milford Lodge, in Pembroke, for example, costs £217.60, a saving of £38.40. Set in woodland with glimpses of the nearby river from the garden, the lodge was built in 1950 for workers on the Little Milford Estate. The estate is now a sanctuary for wildlife and the pretty single-storey lodge, which sleeps four, is perfect for mothers (and their families) in search of peace and quiet. See National Trust website for details of other Mother’s Day offers.Mother & Daughter Delight at the Chester Grosvenor, Chester

The Chester Grosvenor offers 68 bedrooms and 12 suites, two award-winning restaurants – La Brasserie and ‘Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor’, which has retained its Michelin star for 26 years – as well as a boutique spa and Arkle Lounge for afternoon tea. The Mother’s Day package includes a 30-minute treatment, full use of the thermal suite and an ELEMIS gift, for £49.50 per per person, a saving of £35. Subject to availability. Miller Harris scent at The Ampersand Hotel, London

Book your mother an overnight stay at the South Kensington boutique hotel and for an additional £80 you can arrange for an engraved bottle of scent by Miller Harris to be waiting in her room. You fill out a Fragrance Scent Profile in advance (the profile also asks for details of favourite perfumes so you might want to check out Mum’s dressing table) and Miller Harris will work out which scent will suit best. The only snag is that it takes 10 days to process the profile so it’s too late to organise for this Sunday, but the offer runs until March 22. Deluxe rooms from £235 per night.Mother’s Day offer at Grayshott spa

One of the country’s last remaining privately owned health retreats, Grayshott is offering 15 per cent off an overnight stay throughout March. The special Indulgence Break price of £210 per person, per night (based on double occupancy) includes accommodation in a standard room, all meals, a hand and food treatment, facial, massage and a £10 voucher towards any Band C or D treatment booked prior to stay.
