Our cashmere Travelwraps are lovingly crafted on the Scottish Borders, in a centuries-old mill.
Our Mill was founded more than 200 years ago in 1797 and is still an independent, family-run firm. Knitting with only the finest quality, sustainably sourced fibres and employing a unique blend of dyes, the company supplies leading couture houses and fashion independents worldwide; its beautiful pieces are frequently seen on the catwalks. It’s much revered at home, too: in 2013 it was granted The Royal Warrant by HRH The Prince of Wales for the manufacture and supply of Estate Tweed cloth to the Royal household. So we know our precious cashmere Travelwraps couldn’t be in safer hands.
But we don’t just leave it at that. We visit our mill regularly, meeting the knitwear designers and talking to the talented local craftspeople who work there. We follow our gorgeously soft Travelwraps through every stage of their production, from the knitting machines to quality control and hand-finishing.
Our mill is the only one left in the UK still able to transform cashmere from raw fibre to finished garment. But though richly steeped in more than two centuries of tradition, the mill is constantly innovating, employing cutting-edge technology and moving forward with fibre combinations and finish.
To us, our mill is the past, present and future of luxury Scottish cashmere, and we are thrilled to be making the magical journey with them.
