Love snow but hate skiing or just never learned and don’t fancy it? Here are six alternative ways to have fun in the snow.

Snow spa-ing  St Trop Alp Spa, top, in the Swiss resort of Riffelalp, above the village of Zermatt, is the highest spa in Europe and boasts an outdoor pool with eye-level views of the Matterhorn. Combine this with a trip on the recently opened Matterhorn Glacier Ride: not only is it the world’s highest 3S cableway, but it has four Swarovski encrusted ‘Crystal Ride’ cabins.Igloo stays Ranua in Finland has opened 20 Arctic Fox igloos this season. The igloos, made of glass rather than snow, offer panoramic views of the snow-covered wilderness and a unique opportunity to see Aurora displays from the warmth of your own bed. Artisan Travel  offers one night in an Arctic Fox igloo as part of its three-night Ranua – Tailor Made trip between 2 January and 29 March 2019.Ice-cave dining Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler and Head-Line Mountain Holidays have partnered to offer a dining adventure in a secret ice cave in Canada’s largest, southernmost ice field. Diners are transported by private helicopter and taken on a tour of natural ice sculpture and ice flows before tucking into a five-course meal cooked by the Four Seasons Executive Sous Chef David Baarschers. Expect dishes to complement the location, including caviar served on snow. Winter walking Purely Pyrenees offers a number of snowy mountain walks. Its Once In A Lifetime Winter Walking trip includes the spectacular Gavarnie Lake, the Néouvielle Massif, Cauterets, the Pont d’Espagne, the Gaube Lake and the Pic du Midi and has been awarded the prestigious ‘Esprit Parc National’ branding. Snow dancing Lots of resorts in Europe and the US mark the beginning of their seasons with a concert or festival, usually in late November/early December. If you’re quick you can still catch the SnowGlobe electronic music festival in Lake Tahoe 29-31 December. Alternatively Lenny Kravitz is headlining Ishgl’s Top of the Mountain concert on 30 April 2019. Zip-wiring More of a thrill seeker? Try Ischgl’s Skyfly, two parallel zip-wires which offers a 2km adrenalin ride 50m above the ground from the mountain right into the valley. The route runs below the Kitzloch suspension bridge for pedestrians and passes through the Fimbabahn gondola route reaching speeds of up to 52mph.
