I’m biased, of course, but I really can’t think of a better travel gift – for a jet setter or anyone else – than a Travelwrap. My first was periwinkle blue with a white stripe back in 2008. I was travel editor of a national newspaper in those days so my wrap came all around the world with me – on a four-day train journey across snowy Canada, on a chilly night visit to Machu Picchu, once it even made it onto a private jet heading for St Tropez.

My original wrap has now been relegated to my office, replaced in my carry-on bag by a Delft Blue one (pictured above). But I only realised just how much I had come to rely on it on a recent night flight when I tipped a bottle of water over it and had to resort to the airline blanket. Stiff as cardboard and about as warm, it was a very poor substitute for my beloved cashmere companion.
