As Valentine’s Day approaches our thoughts naturally turn to flowers, chocolates, champagne and fine jewellery. No need for home or office deliveries though: just book us into one of these luxury hotels and they’ll do the rest.Balcony, Four Seasons George V, ParisFlowers in Paris Four Seasons is known for its lavish floral displays and the George V, Paris sometimes feels more like an exotic hot house than a hotel. Its artistic director and his team of nine assistant take delivery of an astonishing 12,000 flowers a week, creating dozens of imposing arrangements for the public areas as well as dozens of smaller bouquets that are placed throughout the hotel. And there’s no truck with drooping or wilting here: the floral schemes change every three weeks, but the flowers themselves are changed every single day. From around £800 per night.Boucan by Hotel Chocolat, St LuciaChocolates in the Caribbean For chocolates it has to be Boucan by Hotel Chocolat in St Lucia. It’s owned by the eponymous British chocolatiers who bought the 140-acre estate originally so they could grow their own organic cacoa. The 14-room hotel has a spa, restaurant and bar, not to mention majestic views of the Caribbean Sea and the twin Pitons. But the best thing about it is that you’re never far from the sweet stuff: the dishes served in the restaurant are cacao-infused; the lotions in the spa are made from cacao oil; and you can even join chocolate-making classes. From around £400 per night.Champagne Bar, The Connaught, LondonChampagne in London For champagne, we’ve decided on the ultra-discrete Champagne Room at The Connaught, which serves bubbly in Baccarat glasses to those lucky enough to find it, tucked away behind the main bar. We’ll probably stick to the Dom Perignon 2006 at £270 a bottle, but the rare vintages list includes such delights as a 1979 Clos Du Mesnil Krug (£10,500), a 1971 Œnothèque Dom Perignon (£3,350) and a 1986 Vintage Pol Roger ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ (£4,050). Maybe next year… From around £500 a night.Diamonds in Dubai For jewellery, we’re thinking Bulgari. The luxury Italian brand now has five hotels in its collection, having opened the new Bulgari Resort Dubai just before Christmas. Set on Jumeira Bay Island, the jewel of a resort has a number of Valentine’s treats on offer: we like the sound of the One-Bedroom Villa Staycation which includes a romantic three-course dinner served in the privacy of our own villa plus an in-room couple spa treatment, all for around £3,338. Diamonds are not included, alas, but the villa does have its own pool, landscaped gardens and a sunken marble bath tub. Valentine’s Staycation packages from around £1,300.
